Change in North Carolina franchise law???

It looks like North Carolina might be amending their Business Opportunity Act to include the sale of franchises.  If North Carolina passes the newest bill, then all franchisors choosing to sell in the state will be required to 2 copies of the Franchise Disclosure Document with the Secretary of State.  This new bill will also give potential franchisee’s the ability to void the franchise agreement in instances of untrue or misleading statements, disclosure violations, or other noncompliance.  To find out more about this new bill proposed in North Carolina, please email our Tampa, FL or Austin, TX offices and we will be glad to send you more information.  Our franchise attorneys can be reached at 866-993-7262 or at info@sla.law.
